While fighting alongside allies, you cannot escape the fear of being stabbed in the back. You suffer a –1 penalty to AC whenever you are within 5 feet of any ally. This penalty is doubled if you are within 5 feet of an ally who possesses a shard. Furthermore, the constant pressure of combat threatens to unleash the chaotic power of the shard the moment you loosen your grip on it. Whenever you make an attack or cast a spell, there is a 10% chance that a blast of energy will erupt from your body and strike a random creature within 50 feet of you, dealing 4d6 unholy damage.
