At 12th level, a Sable Company marine trains his hippogriff to use its wings for more than just flying. The hippogriff's wings grant it a +3 dodge bonus to AC against melee attacks. While mounted, the Sable Company marine receives this bonus as well. The hippogriff's enemies treat a 5-foot area around the hippogriff as difficult terrain.
